An Announcement

I wasn't going to post this. Not yet. I was going to save all my drafts on the topic and then publish them at a "safe" time, but I hate the duplicitous feel of it. You all have been through so much with me, and should anything bad happen I would need to write about it and I would want you to there with me. Plus, I'm finding it nearly impossible to separate my posts in any kind of neat way.

And so without further ado, I'll let Landon make his announcement:

He's pretty excited.

And so are we.

Even if we were really, really surprised.

A few notes:
1. If I haven't told you yet in real life and you're finding out on the blog, I'm sorry, this was a rather sudden decision - we hadn't told many people outside of family.
2. Please don't say anything on facebook yet. While I'm willing to share any possible future sad events here, I'm not willing to do so through a facebook status update.
3. I'm in my 7th week and spent all day thinking I was going to throw up. This was so much easier to do in law school.

  3. HOW EXCITING!! Congratulations!

Landon is going to be a great big brother. Watching my two be siblings is really cool in a way I didn't expect.

Feel better. This part is hard, I know!

  4. Congratulations!! I was wondering, it seemed as if you were hinting around a few weeks back. :-)

  5. No, no hints. In fact when I wrote this post I was happily reconciled with the idea of waiting another 6 months or so before even trying. Turns out, I was about 3 weeks pregnant at the time ;)

  13. Congrats! Our surprise came first and blew our minds. You'll have great spacing this way. My second son is 9 weeks and lying on my chest. Parenting an infant is way easier the second time.

  20. Congratulations! I've been a long time reader...first time commenter! I'm thrilled for your family! I am a stay at home mom and must say that this is a hotly debated topic everywhere!!! My take..."Different strokes for different folks!". This is not a "One size fits all!" type of thing! If you want to stay home and you can afford it...GREAT...and lucky you! Many can afford it and still want to work. This too is great if it works for your family and it makes you happy. The most important thing is to enjoy the journey...which ever path you take! People spend so much time focusing on the destination that they forget to enjoy the ride. Time goes fast...inhale every breath!
Can't wait to follow you on this next journey! You are a VERY gifted writer!!!!

  26. Congratulations! Hopefully the morning sickness will either calm down or ramp up so much that you can get medicine for it (I personally love Zofran - it is my friend at even 33.5 weeks pregnant some times).

  48. AHHHH!!! So exciting! I think it's so funny how I feel so excited about someone I don't really know in "real life"... I seriously wanted to just squeal. But that would be weird since I am a high-powered attorney and all... And I'm breaking my no-blogging-or-commenting-at-work rule.

Congratulations LL!! I can't wait to follow the journey.

  70. Congratulations!

I am sure you'll be delighted whether blueberry is a boy or girl. Did you know that given that you weren't trying the odds are greater that it will be a girl - something about x chromosome sperm swimming slower but living longer, and the y chromosome sperm swimming faster but dying sooner.

A friend of mine got pregnant as a result of sex 11 days pre ovulation - a surprising but much hoped for daughter after 5 boys.

    Congratulations LL!!

I'm very happy for you, JP and Landon. While in some ways it will be tougher having two, I can tell you that the undescribable joy and sheer fun of watching your children interact with each other is priceless!

Little Landon is going to be the BEST big brother!! :)
