The MPRE is in 12 hours. I have a screaming, teething baby and a bit of stress in my life due to a month-long, emotionally exhausting child abuse investigation.
I was never particularly worried about the MPRE, but it does seem like even the biggest slacker manages to read through an outline. Right now, I still have not read the outline or done a practice exam. I couldn't sleep last night (or really any night since Oct. 4th) and I just want to take a bath and go to bed. I know Landon will be up multiple times tonight because of his teeth- and his general refusal to go more than 4 hours without wanting to party with everyone in the apartment- so I hope I can force myself out of bed in time for the exam. Attendance rather than preparedness seems to be my goal for tomorrow.
I really hope I pass. I liked the comment on the last post about how the second most ethical answer is always the right one on the MPRE. I think I'll put that theory to the test.

ahh good luck,LL...!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, but keep in mind you can always retake in the spring.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!!
ReplyDeleteI passed the MPRE on the first go, but my score was not great shakes -- I always picked the MOST ethical thing, and the 2nd is always the right answer. Good luck!
ReplyDelete(OR is an modified 85th state.)
Hi. I've been reading for a little while. I'm glad to see that things have, if not returned to normal, then gotten better.
ReplyDeleteI'm commenting now because this is the first time you've posted something on which I feel competent to comment. Don't worry about the MPRE. It's really, really easy. If you're half as smart as your blog makes you seem, you'll do just fine. To give you an idea of how I know it's so easy, I studied for the thing literally a grand total of about ten minutes. I did no practice questions. And I got a score high enough to qualify me to practice in any jurisdiction. You'll do fine.
Thanks for the comment. Hope you get some sleep!
ReplyDeletegood luck on your MPRE. And I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteI admit i've only been following your story for about three weeks now, but I keep coming back. I think it's amazing that you've managed to muster the courage to write about this on a platform as critical as the internet. I admire your courage :)
I hope everything goes well.

I only studied the night before, and even though my state requires one of the highest scores, I managed to get what I needed.
ReplyDeleteAnd retaking it is not the end of the world! You'll be okay.
Good luck with the teething!
I don't know if anyone has suggested this to you before or not, but Hyland's teething tablets or gel (available at Whole Foods) are a miracle aid for teething. They seem to relieve the pain much longer than orajel. Our son really responded well to them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be fine and if you don't pass it's not a big deal to take it again.
ReplyDeleteHaving to delurk to join in the chorus of do NOT worry about the MPRE. I know plenty of people who had to take it more than once because they didn't even pretend to study. I studied very little and passed with plenty of room to spare.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you have "passed" all the tests put before you in the past few weeks speaks wonders.
Good luck. I'm praying for you this morning. Praying you will be alert, focused, and calm. As for Landon's teething, have you tried teething tablets? You can buy them in the baby aisle and everyone I know swears by them. I also found Ibuprofen works a whole lot better for my son than Tylenol. It lasts longer and it is an anti-inflammatory in addition to pain killer. I recommend the Walgreens brand. It is cheaper and it works just as good.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!! Don't worry - the MPRE is really easy :)
ReplyDeleteHope it went better than you hoped!
ReplyDeleteToo late for advice now, but all I know is don't microwave your client's ex wife's cat, and be sure to disclose that your client is dead. That's all I've learned in PR.
ReplyDeleteYou are a trooper for still taking the exam today. I decided that the MPRE was just not going to happen this semester. I'm putting it off until the summer. Good thing I'm a 2L. :)
