Rather than bore you with details about my stress level, impossibly long to-do list, and the phone call I just had filled with the mind-numbing logistics of our cross-country move, I offer you this video clip of Landon. I took it on Saturday when he got up into the crawling position for the first time ever. He didn't actually go anywhere, and he succumbed to the weight of gravity pulling on his belly pretty quickly, but it makes me smile every time I see it.
Videographer's note: I hate the way my voice sounds on videos and voicemails. And Landon sounds like a baby velociraptor, but a happy, cuddly velociraptor who doesn't want to eat you.
I think everyone hates their own voice..But you sound just like every other goochy-gooey Mommy..And Landon sounds like evey other happily content little person..Damn cute!!!
Good for him! My son is a ways away from that . . . he just weighs way too much to defy gravity. 26 lbs!!! And he's 7 months old . . . and 30 inches long!
OMG! I just got all warm and smiley watching that. I looove the look of surprise on his face when he really locks into the crawling position, like, "What am I DOING? This is so COOOL!"
and ahead of chubby Cooper! He just lays there propped-up on his arms without pulling his knees under him, and eventually lays his head down and finds that thumb, too. But then again, he's got 2 things working against him: (1) Gavin never crawled until after he learned to walk on his own, and instead rolled across rooms to where he wanted to be, so Cooper may have the same inclination; and (2) I'm in no hurry to make this child mobile, because then I'll REALLY have to watch him! :) But good job to Landon!!!
Hi. I'm a 1L in Texas who found your blog googling "law school pregnant," because my husband and I are thinking about trying to have our first kid during my third year. I just have to say, your baby is unbelievably adorable!
That is too cute. I love his little squeals of joy.
ReplyDeleteYou're already doing moving logistics? I'm such a delinquent.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I love how he is so wiped out at the end he has to lie down and suck his thumb.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move.
Awwww! So cute! He is going to be crawling soon - how fun!
