So I mentioned yesterday that while I was supposed to be researching my paper, I was actually looking at apartments for our summer move (actually JP will be doing the moving, I will be working in Texas, probably directing him by phone). I found 3 promising places in our new chosen neighborhood, emailed the contacts listed, and set up showings for this afternoon. We completely fell in love with place #2. It is gorgeous- just built in 2003, 2 big bedrooms, 2 baths, big closets, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer, huge back porch with a grill, balcony in the front, and a 50" flat panel TV mounted on the wall that the owner "doesn't feel like moving". It includes parking and is on a very pretty tree-lined street just off a busy/fun street. After seeing place #3 (a total dump) we called that realtor and said we'd take it! We sign the lease on Wednesday and are all done! It's pretty amazing to think that's where we'll be when I go into labor (well, unless it happens at my fancy Chicago law firm) and that's where we'll bring home our new son from the hospital. There will be so many memories made during his first year there!
So it feels good to check "find apartment" off the to-do list- now if only someone would pick a paper topic, research said topic, write my paper, and do all my casebook reading for the week, then I might be able to take care of the really important things like finalizing my baby registry and looking at birth announcements online.
